Weight Loss Exercises for Men

Men opt for weight loss exercises for varied reasons. Therefore, it is important to know why you should want to lose weight. Is it to improve your self esteem or to have a healthy body or is it because you want to look good? This is important to know because this is what will be your driving force behind your desire to lose weight. One must also be realistic about this goal. We did not gain weight over night, so time will be required to lose weight too. The key is not to lose patience and keep at it. Success is never achieved unless hard work is put in.



This exercise builds your chest, triceps and abdomen. Lie on your stomach with legs straight and hands below your shoulders.  Now push back until your arms are straight. Hold this position for a few moments and then lower your body to the original position.



This one builds your back muscles and biceps. Hold a fixed bar with fully stretched arms over your head and then pull your chin up over the bar and then lower yourself back to staring position.


Men stick up

This is an exercise to strengthen your back muscles. Stand with your back touching the wall but, feet nearly 6 inches away from the wall. Now slide your arms up the wall with shoulders and elbows keeping in touch with the wall. Hold this position for a few seconds and then return to starting position.



Running is by far the best exercise to lose fat. Early morning running on empty roads rejuvenates both the body and the mind. Buy a pair of good running shoes and take to the road every morning. This is a very good cardio exercise and the heart muscles get stronger with this.


Stationary running or jogging is also a very good exercise to lose fat. If for some reason you cannot venture out for a run, this can act as a very good replacement for the same. The advantage is it can be done indoors so you can choose a time convenient for you.



If you have been a sports buff, take up any outdoor sports like tennis, beach basket ball or football. The advantage is you get to play with a group of friends and you do not feel like exercising to lose fat. It is a fun filled activity which helps you to lose weight and at the same time does not look tasking.

There are so many benefits of exercise. The idea is not to treat it as a must do routine task, but, to enjoy it as an activity. Remember that if you want to get the best out of it, it is better to take up an activity in which you are interested. Also keep a watch on what you eat. Losing weight is associated with calorie intake. You must burn more calories than you take in the form of food and drinks. Avoid refined sugar and fast food. Replace red meat in your dinner plate with green vegetables and fruits.
